Interviews

VegasPaco got a chance to sit down and talk to professional heavyweight boxer, Alvaro Morales.

VP:We're here at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada with Heavyweight fighter, Alvaro Morales, how are you doing today?
Morales: Fine, I'm right here

VP: How long have you lived in Las Vegas?
Morales: Close to 12 years.

VP: How many amateur fights have you had?
Morales: I think I lost count after the 100th fight, but I filled up a book and a half, so probably around 150 fights.

VP: What's your professional record?
Morales: 1 win, no losses, 2 draws. The two draws, I had to go fight guys in their home town. I really wanted to fight here in Vegas.

VP: Where do you train?
Morales: At Las Vegas boxing.

VP: Who is your trainer?
Morales: My dad, he's an ex-boxer, Raul Morales.

VP: What's your favorite knockout punch?
Morales: I really don't have one, I keep working on it, work on it, and the knockout just comes.

VP: What's your favorite place to eat in Vegas?
Morales: At the house, mom's home cooking.

VP: What type of music do you like?
Morales: Personally I like rock, but I listen to everything else.

VP: Where do you like to go in Vegas?
Morales: I usually like to go to Neonopolis to watch the latest movies.

VP: What's your favorite type of movie?
Morales: I like martial arts, action, adventure, mystery, Jet Li and Jackie Chan type movies.

VP: What do you like to do after a fight?
Morales: Eat.

VP: Are you married or have children?
Morales: No........no kids that I know of.

VP: Do you have any advice for someone looking to come out to Vegas and train to be a pro fighter?
Morales: Know what you're getting in to. Try it out for a few. I've seen some guys walk in to the gym with high hopes and lose their first amateur fight. You can't get discouraged.

VP: Do you know anything about your opponent?
Morales: I know he played basketball. I believe he (Kaspars) had 10 amateur fights. I know he (Kaspars) is promoted by Richard Steele. I'm afraid there might be some favoritism, so I have my work cut out for me.

VP:Anything else you would like to say?
Morales: Thanks to my family and friends that are coming to see me.

VP: Thank you for your time and good luck!

Former UNLV basketball player, Kaspars Kambala, makes his professional debut against hometown fighter, Alvaro Morales, in a heavyweight matchup.
